1901 Employed as an assistant manager (loco engineer); living in Glasgow St Rollox
1905 David MacNab Ramsay and Hugh Reid patented [3] a joint invention, the Reid-Ramsay steam-turbine electric-locomotive[4], which underwent some trials but was not placed in service[5].
1922 Ramsay formed the Ramsay Condensing Locomotive Co which commissioned a second turbo-electric locomotive from Armstrong, Whitworth and Co of Newcastle[6].
