David Groucutt (c1819-1876) of Samuel Groucutt and Sons

1876 Obituary [1]

In January the death was announced of Mr. David Groucutt, the senior partner of the firm of Messrs. Samuel Groucutt and Sons, of Bilston, near Wolverhampton, the proprietors of the Bankfield and Bradley Field Iron Works, the Broadwaters Blast Furnaces, and the Moxley and other collieries. He was 57 years old.

The earlier portion of his life was spent in the coal trade, but he afterwards turned his attention to the iron trade. He was well known in South Staffordshire as a practical ironmaster. Mr. Groucutt was formerly a member of the South Staffordshire Iron Trade Conciliation Board, and then was connected with the Wages Board, which succeeded it.
