College; joined service as Assistant Engineer, 1874; Executive Engineer, 1882; Under-Secretary, Public Works Department, 1885 1886; Superintending Engineer, 1896; Member, Legislative Council, Bengal, 1902; Chief Engineer and Secretary to Government, 1902-6; retired, 1906.
