Born the son of George Price, a Carpenter. Brother of Alfred Price and George Price of A. and G. Price in New Zealand.

1851 Living at Bisley, Gloucestershire: George Price (age 46 born Bisley), Carpenter and Beer Seller. With his wife Catharine Price (age 48 born Frampton-on-Severn) and their five children; Alfred Price (age 12 born Bisley); Catharine Price (age 10 born Bisley); Daniel Price (age 9 born Bisley); George Price (age 7 born Bisley); and Ann Price (age 6 born Bisley).[1]

1881 Living at Rose Cottage, bath Road, Rodborough: Daniel Price (age 39 born Bisley), Master Machinist, Iron and Brass Founder. Living with his parents.[2]
