Daimler-Benz

Co-operation started in 1924 between Benz & Cie (founded 1883 by Karl Benz) and Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (founded 1890 by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach). In 1926 they formally merged to become Daimler-Benz Aktiengesellschaft. They would use the name "Mercedes-Benz" on their vehicles.

In Britain, D-B took over the sale of its Mercedes-Benz cars and trucks in Britain in 1974 from Thomas Tilling (which had held the franchise for 13 years).[1]
