1956 Company incorporated by Victor Warner and Reginald Palumbo as electrical engineers, etc.

1970 Cray Electronics Ltd incorporated as a public company, specialising in high precision sheet metal equipment for the telecoms industry[1].

1972 Reverse take-over by J. and S. Engineers, a private company engaged in precision engineering including centrifugal pumps. This was stimulated by Spey Investments[2].

1973 Reverse take-over of C. and N. Electrical Industries, a subsidiary of Crest Nicholson. This was stimulated by Spey Investments[3].

1978 Spey Investments acquired Crest Nicholson's holdings in the company, giving it a majority of the shares in the company[4]

1980 Throgmorton Trust acquired 70% of the shares in Cray but did not want to acquire the remainder[5].

1982 Re-registered as Cray Electronics PLC

1983 Acquired J. O. Grant and Taylor (London) Ltd

1984 The company was acquired by Cray Electronics Holdings

1984 Cray Electronics, focused on engineering, defence systems and equipment testing, was listed on the London Stock Exchange

1985 Acquired Malvern Instruments[6]

1992 Acquired travel business Autofile Ltd

1992 Sold Malvern Instruments to Burnfield[7].

1993 Wireless testing business launched

1996 Company name changed to Anite Plc

2006 Company acquired network testing business Nemo
