1983 Tarmac Building Products is to sell its Coolag Industrial Division to the Coolag management who will in future trade as Kooltherm Insulation Products.[5]
1986 Pilkington Brothers bought Kooltherm Insulation Products, a company specialising in low temperature insulation.[6]
1987 Coolag Purlboard, whose head office is at Heysham, is part of the international Tarmac group. It is UK market leader in the manufacture of rigid urethane foam products primarily for the building industry.[7]

1990 Coolag was part of the highly successful Tarmac Group.[8]
1991 Tarmac Industrial Products sold Coolag ,Ltd, the Heysham based manufacturer of building insulation products, to Shelter-Plaschem. [9]
