Clyde Cooperage Co

From Graces Guide

1884 The Clyde Cooperage Company Limited was registered on 4th November 1884, taking over an existing cooperage at 54-64 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow. The company was apparently founded at the instigation of William Alexander Robertson of the firm of Robertson and Baxter. At the time the company was described as coopers, vat builders, packing case makers, stave and hoop merchants.

Cooperage suppliers to the Scotch Whisky Industry.

The company later operated at Viewfield Cooperage, Calder Street, Lochwinnoch.

2000 At a time of surplus in whisky production, the decision was taken to shift operations from Lochwinnoch to West Calder, with the loss of a number of jobs.[1]
