1970 Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Co was acquired by Trafalgar House

1982 Redpath Dorman Long was sold to Trafalgar House for £10 million[1]

1982 Redpath Dorman Long was merged with Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Co. From the 1st October the structural engineering division was put under the collective umbrella of Cleveland Redpath Engineering Holdings.[2] Within the new business subsidiary units were formed to focus on supplying the offshore oil and gas industry:[3]

  • Cleveland Redpath Offshore, made up of Cleveland Offshore (at Port Clarence) and Redpath Offshore (at the Lin-Din yard).
  • Cleveland Redpath Engineering, including structural steelworks unit at Darlington
  • Cleveland Redpath Fabrications at Stockton
  • Cleveland Pipework Services at Stockton
