Clarke and Webb

From Graces Guide
(Redirected from Clark and Webb)

1875 The Clarke Brake, a chain brake, modified by F. W. Webb was a form of continuous brake i.e. it would control the whole train, but the system was not fail-safe[1]

1892 The North London Railway had installed the vacuum brake and hoped it would be as reliable as the Clarke and Webb brake[2]
