CHARLES WILLIAM HARRIS, born in New South Wales on the 2nd September, 1879, was accidentally killed at Suva, Fiji, on the 22nd April, 1915.
He entered the Public Works Department of New South Wales in 1895, being posted to the Newcastle district, and in 1901 he was transferred to the engineering staff of the Sydney Harbour Trust.
In 1912 he was appointed Resident Engineer on the new harbour works at Suva, where he met his untimely death.
He was elected an Associate Member on the 8th January, 1907.
