1847 Born in Deptford the son of William Welton, a police officer, and his wife Amelia
1911 Living at 1 Elmshurst, Grove Park, Denmark Hill: Charles Keen Welton (age 63 born Deptford), Retired Shipbuilder. With his wife Elizabeth Welton (age 66 born Southwark). Married 43 years with five children of whom two are still living. One servant.[1]

1921 December. Will. 'Charles Keen Welton, of Elmburst, Grove Park, Camberwell, Co. Surrey, member of Messrs Cook, Welton, and Gemmell, shipbuilders, of Beverley and Hull, and Director of the Onward Steam Fishing Co., and a pioneer of the steam fishing industry, who died on the 29th August last, aged 74 years, left gross estate the value of £14,971, with net personalty £14,753.'[2]
