1896 Description of the business, on the occasion of the installation of electric lighting. Business established by John Evans. [1]. Charles Jones & Sons started at Rhuddlan in 1867, and took over the late Mr. Evans's business in 1877. The sawmill was equipped with machinery made by Thomas Robinson and Sons. There was a Thomas Smith and Sons locomotive steam crane in the yard, originally used in connection with the Vyrnwy Water Works. The electricity generating machinery was supplied by P. R. Jackson and Co.
