Charles Hudson Mower (1866-1930) of Sturtevant Engineering Co

CHARLES HUDSON MOWER was born in Boston, Mass., U.S.A., in 1866.

He received his technical training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston.

He came over to this country in 1886 to join the firm which is now the Sturtevant Engineering Company of London, and later he became a director and chief engineer of the company.

He spent several years in Germany and Russia, introducing and installing modern heating, ventilating and labour-saving workshop equipments on the firm's behalf.

He retired some years ago on account of ill-health, and had since lived most of the time in France and Switzerland.

He was elected a Member of the Institution in 1909.

He died in Switzerland on 26th October 1930.
