Chadburn's (Ship) Telegraph Co of Cyprus Road, Bootle

1898 The company was registered on 19 March, to take over the businesses of Chadburn and Sons, and Thomas Basnett, with certain patents. [1]

1903 a large four storey factory was acquired in Bootle; a non-ferrous foundry was built nearby to manufacture steam whistles, engine revolution counters and rudder angle indicators as well as telegraphs.

1944 The chairman, James McKie Dewar, died

1944 Name changed to Chadburn's
