1870 The company was established as the North of England Industrial Iron and Coal Co.

1877 The name was changed as above. [1]

1914 Carlton Iron Company Limited (Company Number 136,855) incorporated to acquire the undertaking, assets and liablities of the company of the same name incorporated in 1870.[2] Nominal capital £325,000. Directors:-

1920 Acquired by Dorman, Long and Co[3]

1923 Dorman Long's subsidiary companies were liquidated and the assets transferred to the parent[4]
