1826 Edward and Stephen Sheldon established a foundry at Coseley for the manufacture of cast iron pots and pans, which eventually became Cannon Iron Foundries.
1952 Private company. Cannon Iron Foundries renamed Cannon Holdings.
1953 The results of Cannon Holdings incorporated a subsidiary Cannon Industries that had been formed for a particular purpose, namely a separate and more specialised direction than was possible under the previous constitution. It continued to serve the chemical industry together with a new subsidiary, Cannon (CP), established to handle chemical plant sales and service[1].
1961 Manufacturers of gas cookers, space heaters and chemical plant. 1,200 employees.[2]
1964 GEC took over Cannon Holdings Ltd[3].
1965 Some parts of the nationalised electricity and gas industries refused to stock Cannon's new cooker which used both fuels[4].
1982 Carron Co sold its luxury cooking appliance division to Cannon Industries[5].
