Located in the town centre, adjacent to the Piece Hall.

The Museum includes a Newton, Bean and Mitchell horizonal beam engine in the collection (see image). The engine is a horizontal single cylinder built by Newton, Bean & Mitchell of Bradford in 1926 and supplied to Alma Tannery, Pudsey. The Corliss valve cylinder is 14" x 24" and speed regulation is by a Bee governor. The engine was rated at 120 horsepower at 120 rpm on steam at 140-150 psi. The flywheel is 10' diameter. The engine ran until 1976-7.

The museum houses an excellent collection of machinery and other items related to the local industries
