Charles Buchanan Ker (1826-1899)
1826 January 19th. Born the son of Robert Dow Ker, merchant of Greenock.
1847 Laid out the Cambridge, Royston and Ware line under the superintendence of Joseph Locke.[1]
1856 July 3rd. Married (1) at Byculla, Bombay to Alicia Noble, daughter of William Nobel of Cooltrain, Brookeborough.[2]
1859 Civil Engineer to the Great Indian Peninsula Railway.[3]
1870 Moves from Clifton, Bristol to Teddington.[4]
1871 Living at Lansdowne House, Aulaby Road, Teddington: Charles B. Ker (age 45 born Scotland), Civil Engineer. With his wife Alicia Ker (age 36 born Ireland) and their children Ethel M. Ker (age 8 born East Indies); Lillie H. Ker (age 2 born Teddington); and Winifred A. Ker (age 1 born Teddington). Also his sister Charlotte Budanankes (age 43 born Scotland), Unmarried Annuitant. Five servants.[5]

1881 Living at East Coombe Villas, Greenwich: Charles B. Ker (age 55 born Scotland), Civil Engineer. With his wife Alicia Ker (age 46 born Ireland) and their children; A. E. Ker (age 20 born Ireland), Student of Medicine; Ethel M. Ker (age 18 born India); Lily Ker (age 12 born Teddington); Winnie Ker (age 11 born Teddington); and Charles Arthur Ker (age 5 born Clifton). Also his son-in-law R. A. Squires (age 34 born Italy - British subject) and his wife Bessy Squires (age 23 born India). Four servants.[7]

1891 Living at No 6 Royal Park, Clifton, Bristol: Chas B. Ker (age 65 born Scotland), Railway Director and Retired Civil Engineer. With his wife Anna M. Ker (age 45 born Ireland) and their children Lilian H. Ker (age 22 born Teddington); Winifred A. Ker (age 21 born Teddington); and Chas Arthur Ker (age 15 born Clifton). Also his grandson Ernest K. Squires (age 8 born India). Three servants.[8]
1899 March 13th. Died at 6 Royal Park, Clifton, Bristol.[9]
