Butterley Brick

by 1967 was a subsidiary of Butterley Co[1]

1968 Wiles Group bought a brick-making and engineering business, Butterley Co of Derby[2]. The brick making part of the business was put into Wiles' building materials group[3]

1972 British Steel sold its Thurcroft, Rotherham brickworks, and the Castle Brick Co and other brickworks of the strip division, to Butterley Brick Co, of Ripley[4]

1973 Butterley Brick Co acquired Midland Brick from the National Coal Board[5]
