Brymbo Iron Co

1842 The Brymbo Iron Co was formed to manage the Brymbo Iron Works

1842 A General Meeting of the Brymbo Iron and Coal Company was held; John Campbell, Director.[1]

From 1846 the company was managed by William Henry Darby and Charles Edward Darby, grandsons of Abraham Darby (1750-1789) of Coalbrookdale.

1873 Installed a new blast furnace, and a blowing engine made by the Haigh Foundry Co.[2]

1874 Patent application by Charles Edward Darby, of Brymbo, in the county of Denbigh, Member of the firm of the Brymbo Company, and Jonathan Green, of the same place, Furnace Manager, in respect of the invention of "improvements in or applicable to blast or smelting furnaces."[3]

The Darbys died in 1882 and 1884.

1884 The business was incorporated at the Brymbo Steel Co

1934 The business changed company name again in 1934.
