1904 Company founded by Ernest Brook who made his first a.c. motor in Huddersfield as E. Brook
1949 Brook Motors was incorporated as a private company.[1]
1950 Company made public.
1951 Name changed.
1951 The company made around 20,000 different types of electric motor.
1958 Also in Chicago USA.[2]
1961 Manufacturers of alternating current electric motors and control gears. 2,750 employees.
1967 Acquired Victor Electric Co and changed its name to Brook Victor Electric Vehicles[3]
By 1968 Brook Victor Electric Vehicles Ltd had a full orderbook and was expected to make a contribution to profits next year[4]
1968 Queen's Award to Industry for Export Achievement.
1969 One of 4 principal makers of electric motors in Britain[5]
1970 With the support of the Industrial Reorganisation Corporation, Hawker Siddeley bid for and acquired Brooks[6], which later became Brook Crompton Parkinson Motors[7] [8]
1973 Brook Motors acquired Opperman Holdings[9]
