1930 Tungsram Electric Lamps was a different company.
1933 Private company established as British Tungsram Radio Works, a subsidiary of the United Incandescent Co of Budapest, which manufactured valves by importing and sealing parts made elsewhere.
1933 Introduced the type LP.220 valve, which opens up quite a new era high efficiency low consumption power valves.[1]
WWII: started production of valve components that it could not purchase.
1952 Controlling interest acquired by Philips Electrical Ltd [2]. Mullard took over management of British Tungsram.
1961 Manufacturers of wireless and other valves, industrial and domestic lamps.
