Bridgwater Steam Saw Mills
in Bridgwater, Somerset
1842 'BRIDGWATER. The steam Saw Mills, in this town, near the new bridge over the river Parrett, are now complete and in full work; also the immense Iron Tanks, kept constantly filled with timber (pickling or kyanizing) for the purpose of laying the Rail on to Taunton and Exeter. It is astonishing see the quantity of timber that is lying on about four acres of land adjoining, and trows of about fifty tons burden floating up the river to that place every high tide.'[1]
