1862 Bournemouth Gas & Water Co. was formed.
c.1864 The Bourne Valley Gasworks were built by W. C. Holmes & Co and commenced operation circa 1864.
1873 Incorporated by Act of Parliament
1902 Purchase of Poole gas company
1925 The gasworks closed after construction of the Pitwines gasworks. The Bourne Valley site remained the major distribution and storage site for Bournemouth.
1938 Acquired the Wareham Gas Light and Coal and Coke Co
1949 Nationalisation
1989 Bournemouth Water Co Ltd was established as one of the privatised water-only supply companies
later merged with West Hampshire Water Co as Bournemouth and West Hampshire Water PLC
