Born at Acocks Green the son of Edwin Handley, an Iron Plate Merchant.

1901 Married (1) at Edgbaston to Cecile Kate Dudley (1876-1911)

1911 Residing at 214 Hamstead Road, Handsworth: Bertie William Handley (age 35 born Acocks Green), Metal Merchant. With his wife Cicile and a daughter.[1]

1915 Married (2) at Edgbaston to Ellen Maud Dudley

1961 Died. 'The death is announced of Mr. Bertie William Handley, director of C. H. Parsons Ltd., electrical engineers, of Tyseley, for 40 years until his retirement about six years ago. Mr. Handley whose home was in Alderbrook Road, Solihull, was 86. A native of Handsworth, he was educated at Kelly's College. He was a member of the Midland Club, Birmingham, and was a former rector's warden and a member of the choir at Solihull Parish Church. He leaves a widow and two daughters.'[2]
