1904 Gained patents on electrical switchgear

1916 The first Magicoal Electric Fire was manufactured.

1917 Formed Berry's Electric Ltd; transferred patents to that company

1917 Patented the Magicoal fire

1920 Erected works at Hall Green

1922 Patent - Improvements relating to electric switches. [4]

1928 Berry's Electric (1928) Ltd was incorporated to acquire Berry's Electric Ltd including the 25 patents on Magicoal fires

1928 Became public company

1937 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Domestic Heating, including Magicoal Plus and Haloberry Fires. Period and Modern Fireplace Surrounds and Interiors. Commercial and Domestic Water Heating. Self-contained Heaters and Circulator Types. Modern and Period Lighting fittings. Low Tension Heavy Switchgear. (Stand No. Cb.307) [5]

1938 Name changed

1956 Berry's Electric Magicoal Ltd, a public company, was formed to acquire Berry's Electric Ltd[6], makers of Magicoal electric fires and electric water heaters.

1961 Manufacturers of electric fires, heaters, water heaters, electric light fittings, electric switchgear.[7]

1969 United Gas Industries Ltd acquired Berry's Electric Magicoal Ltd[8].
