1891 Registered to construct a railway of 37 miles.

1898 Construction started

1910 Total in operation is 153 miles. Officers - James Finlay and Co, Calcutta are Agents in India; J. A. Polwhele, Manager and Chief Engineer; W. Desbruslais, Resident Engineer; O. G. Kiernaunder, Assistant Traffic Superintendent; W. Galbraith, Assistant Locomotive Superintendent.[1]

1918 Total in operation is 158 miles. Officers - J. A. Polwhele, Manager and Chief Engineer; W. Desbruslais and N. C. O'Gorman, Engineers; O. G. Kiernaunder, Assistant Traffic Superintendent; W. Galbraith, Assistant Locomotive Superintendent.[2]

1940 The Secretary of State for India had the right to purchase the line before 31st Dec 1940. He gave notice of intended purchase which would be made in England in 1941-42. The railway is a metre gauge line about 160 miles in length.
