1954 Became Joint Managing Director when Hallam, Sleigh and Cheston was floated as a public company

1959 Joint Managing Director, Hallam, Sleigh and Cheston, since 1954

1961 March 01st. Died. 'Mr. Basil Morley Cheston, of Arden Court. Wootton Wawen, joint managing director of Hallam, Sleigh and Cheston Ltd., makers of transport accessories and electronic equipment, a Freeman of the City of London and a fellow of the Worshipful Company of Coach and Coach Harness Makers. who died on March 1 last, aged 56 years.'[1]
