Barranquilla Railway
of Columbia
1869-71 Building of Bolivar Railway (Ferrocarril de Bolívar), the first railway of the present-day Republic of Colombia. It linked Barranquilla and Sabanilla (Salgar), the latter being the location of the customs house.
1870 The line was finished, and was subsequently purchased by the Government.
c1885 John Edward Waller supervised the construction of the Barranquilla Railway and pier, Colombia.
1893 The new pier was opened.
