The brand of clothing made by J. Barbour and Sons . The 5th generation of this family-owned business remains in the North East. Barbour’s headquarters, located in Simonside, South Shields is also home to the factory where Barbour’s iconic Bedale and Beaufort wax jackets are still manufactured by hand and where customer services lovingly re-wax, repair and Re-Love wax jackets and mend quilts by hand enabling customers to extend the lives of their jackets.

Barbour International, inspired by the company’s motorcycle heritage since 1936, became a stand-alone brand in 2013 with its own identity, look and feel.
