1855 Bankrupt. Bailey Sherwood and Newman Sherwood. Lambeth. Builders and Contractors.[1][2][3]

1856 '...Bailey Sherwood, one of the bankrupts, was examined and stated that had been in business since 1825, and had been largely engaged in railway contracts, both in England and France. They constructed thirty miles of the Eastern Counties, the Croydon line, and the Great Western terminus. They had contract for fifty miles on the Great Northern of France, in 1847...'[4]
