1848[1]/1850[2] Benjamin Hall Blyth commenced business on his own account.
His first work was the Slamannan and Bo’ness Branch of the Monkland Railway, followed by other road and rail projects.
1854 With increasing work Benjamin brought his brother, Edward L. I. Blyth, into partnership
1866 Benjamin Blyth died at the age of 47 from overworking. George Miller Cunningham became a partner and the firm became Blyth and Cunningham
