B. L. Barker and Co of Liberty Iron Works, Sidebottom Street, Stalybridge were engineers and millwrights. Probably headed by Benjamin Lowe Barker.

1891 Advert lists steam engines among their products (horizontal, vertical, beam, and diagonal).

Note: Reference to John Holt & Co at Liberty Iron Works in 1891: 'JOHN HOLT & CO., ENGINEERS and MILLWRIGHTS, Liberty Ironworks, Stalybridge, Manchester. Repairs to Engines and Mill Gearing personally superintended. Makers of Barker's Improved Elastic Metallic Pistons.'[1]
