Late 1950s: Mavor and Coulson acquired Austin Hoy with its associate Hoy Carbides to provide a source of hard metal cutting elements, cutting chains and picks for its own machines and others.

1961 Manufacturers of coal-cutter chains of special design and variety of accessories for mining machinery, coal cutter jibs, brackets and sprockets. 180 employees. [1]
