ca.1853 Company formed by brothers Harry Wright Atkin, Edward Thomas Atkin and Frank Shaw Atkin to continue their father's business Henry Atkin and Co at 32 Howard Street, Sheffield.

1906 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Edward Thomas Atkin, Edward Atkin, Harry Atkin, and Oliver Atkin, carrying on business as Silversmiths, at the Truro Works, Matilda-street, Sheffield, under the style or firm of "ATKIN BROTHERS," has been dissolved by mutual consent as and from the twenty-ninth day of September, 1906, so far as regards the said Edward Thomas Atkin, who retires from the firm...'[1]

Atkin Brothers manufactured a wide range of electroplate, Britannia Metal, silver and plated cutlery supplied to Thornhill & Co - London, Barraclough & Sons - Leeds, Ollivant & Botsford - Manchester, James Crichton & Co - Edinburgh, Hall & Co - Manchester, and many other firms in the United Kingdom and in the Colonies
