1958 Private company established as a joint company between Ericsson Telephones, Automatic Telephone and Electric Co and English Electric Co to develop and manufacture transistors in greater quantities, mainly for their own use,[1][2] called Associated Transistors[3].

1960 English Electric Valve Co's interests in transistors were merged into the JV company. Pilot plant in operation at Ruislip. Land acquired at Basingstoke for factory. Aim to be making 15 million transistors by 1963[4].

1961 Manufacturers of transistors and other semi-conductor devices. 250 employees. [5]

1962 Acquired by Mullard, the largest manufacturer of transistors in the UK[6]
