Associated Telegraph and Telephone Co

1925 Formed as a subsidiary of the Theodore Gary & Company which controlled telephone companies in Latin American and telephone manufacturing in Europe in the 1920s and 30s.
Associated Telephone and Telegraph Co. was a corporation with its principal place of business in New York City but registered in Delaware. Associated had a wholly-owned subsidiary, Automatic Electric Co. (Automatic), also a Delaware corporation. Automatic formerly had two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Pan-American Telephone & Telegraph Company (Panco), a Delaware corporation, and Filcrest Co., Ltd. (Filcrest), which was organized and existed under the laws of Canada.
1926 Patent on "Improvements in or relating to telephones"
1927 Patent on "Improvements in or relating to telephone systems"
1937 Known as the 'American Strowger Company'; it held a controlling interest and provided technical, commercial as well as financial support to International Automatic Telephone Co for the next 16 years[1] (i.e. from 1920).
1955 Merged with General Telephone Corporation (later known as GTE).
1962 The company was a plaintiff in an appeal concerning tax liability in respect of liquidation in 1954 of a foreign subsidiary.
