1867 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, William Thomas Ashton, Samuel Augustus Nichols, and Carter Hawkins Brindle, carrying on business in copartnership as Cotton Spinners and Power Loom Cloth Manufacturers, at Baxenden, in the county of Lancaster, under the firm of, Ashton and Company, was this day dissolved by mutual consent, as on and from the 30th day of September last, so far as regards the said William Thomas Ashton, who retires from the said partnership; and that all debts due or owing to or by the said late partnership are to be received and paid by the said Samuel Augustus Nichols and Carter Hawkins Brindle, who will in future carry on the said business at the same place on their own account, under the firm of Nichols and Brindle...'[1]
