1883 Company founded.

1888 'Mr. J. Armstrong, of Manchester, has taken a situation as engineer in Russia in place of Mr. Charles Wilkinson, late engineer of the Ash Spinning Co., Shaw, who has had to give the situation up through sickness.'[1]

1889 'A new invention has been fixed to the steam engine at the Ash Spinning Co., which instantly and automatically shuts off steam when an accident occurs in the breaking of the main wheels, connecting rods, crank fins, cylinder ends,'[2]

1891 Directory (Oldham): Listed as cotton spinners and manufacturers. More details

1893 'There is working at the Ash Spinning Co., Shaw, another invention by Mr. Joseph Moorhouse, manager. It is an anti-snarling motion for mules'[3]

1898 'Mr. Widdup, a gentleman well known in Oldham commercial circles, has been appointed secretary at the Ash Spinning Co'[4]

1920 Restructured as Ash Spinning Co (1920).

1979 Acquired by the John Bright Group.

1984 Ash Mill closed.
