1821 Born in Lambeth, son of James and Dorothy Andrews[1]

His brothers Charles and John were born later.

c.1836 Pupil under Joseph Gibbs (5 years)

c.1841 Worked for 7 years as engineer under Peto including as agent for Grissell and Peto on the Ely to Cambridge section of the Eastern Counties Railway

c.1848 Worked for almost 3 years under Mr Bidder as resident engineer on Lowestoft Harbour

c.1851 became Resident Engineer under Mr Rendel on Leith Harbour, West India Docks and London Docks

1858 Working at Shadwell, London Docks, when he became a Member of the Inst Civil Engineers

1862-7 Living and working in Cape Town.

1881 Arthur T. Andrews 58, civil engineer, lived in Lambeth with Emily Andrews 54[2]

1886 Living in Gunnersbury[3]

1901 Arthur Thos Andrews 79, retired civil engineer, lived in Acton; William Andrews 65, civil engineer, was a visitor[4]

1907 Died in Brentford[5]

. . . As early as 1837 he commenced work on the London and Croydon section of the Brighton Railway. From there he went to the Great Western Railway Company, where be had charge of some of the works which were then being carried out.
