Arthur Percy Maddocks (1873- )

1922 B.Sc. (Birmingham), M.Inst.C.E., Sanitary Engr. to Government, Poona, India; b. 1873. Ed. at King Edward VI's School, Birmingham; and Mason College, Birmingham; Sc. Scholar, Tangye Scholar, and Associate of Mason College, and holder of the Senior Eng. Diploma. Pupil of E. Radcliff, Assoc.M.Inst.C.E., Engineer to the Donegal Railway Company, Ireland. In 1895 joined the engineering staff of the late James Mansergh, F.R.S., Past President Institution of Civil Engineers, on the Elan Valley Waterworks of the Birmingham Corporation. 1899-I 902—Assistant Resident Engineer in charge of the Hagley-Frankly section of the Elan Aqueduct. 1902-7— Chief Assistant Engineer on the Derby Corporation's new sewerage and sewage disposal works. 1907-8— Engineering Assistant on the staff of the late W. B. Bryan, Member of Council, Institution of Civil Engineers, Chief Engineer, Metropolitan Water Board. 1908-12—Resident Engineer for the Water Board on the Island Barn Reservoir works. 1912-20—Assis tant Engineer and Senior Assistant Engineer, Metropolitan Water Board. Paper on the " Automatic Distributors on the Derby Sewage Disposal Works," published in Minutes of Proceedings, Institution of Civil Engineers. War Services.—Emergency Engineer, London Defences; calculations for reinforced concrete water towers on various Admiralty airship stations.
