With his wife Margaret Burn (age 41 born Edinburgh) and their six children; Thomas A. Burn (age 15); Margaret S. I. Burn (age 14); Robert G. L. Burn (age 12 born Edinburgh); John David Burn (age 11); Lewis A. Burn (age 9); and Archibald W. Burn (age 6).[1]

1879 Death of his eldest son Thomas Alexander age 24.[2]
