The Antofagasta (Chili) and Bolivia Railway Company

1888 Raised money on the London Stock Exchange to build and operate a railway from Antofagasta, a port on the Pacific Coast of northern Chile, to La Paz, the capital of Bolivia.

1900 Productive mileage is 574 miles. Built to 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge, with a route that climbed from sea level to over 4,500 m (14,764 ft).
