Aller Vale Pottery

Aller Vale Pottery, maker of earthenware domestic goods, of Torquay

1865 John Phillips started a pottery under the name of J Phillips and Co

1880s the original pottery was destroyed by fire; John Phillips started the Aller Vale Art Pottery

1890s the company's wares were stocked by Liberty and Co, London.

1897 Phillips died; the company was acquired by Hexter Humpherson and Co, who amalgamated it with another of their acquisitions, Watcombe Pottery. The new firm was known as Royal Aller Vale and Watcombe Co.

1962 The company continued to produce pottery until 1962.
