1893 Born in Chingford the son of William Snell, Engineer Fitter at the British Xylonite Co, and his wife Eliza Draywater.

1907 Firstly worked as a Fitter in a local cycle factory.

1911 Living at 39 Selwyn Drive, Highams Park, Chingford: William Snell (age 48 born Marylebone), General Engineer - Agricultural Implement Maker. With his wife Eliza Snell (age 47 born London) and their three children; Sydney Snell (age 20 born Kentish Town), General Engineer; Alfred Snell (age 18 born Victoria Park, London), General Engineer; and Lilian Snell (age 14 born Victoria Park, London).[1]

1915 Married Florence May West

1939 Listed at 221 Monmouth Drive, Sutton Coldfield, as a Technical Director and Consultant (Plastic Industry). With his wife Florence M. and daughter Iris L. Gillings.[2]
