1835 Born in Ebbw Vale the son of Samuel Hill, an Engineer, and his wife Sarah

1881 Living at 1 Stapylton Villa, Eston, Yorks: Alfred Clayton Hill (age 45 born Ebbw Vale), Mechanical Engineer and Manager of Ironworks. With his wife Mary Hill (age 41 born Wakefield) and their daughter Gertrude Hill (age 7 born Redcar). Also his neice Alice M. Hill (age 22 born Boseley). Three servants.[1]

1889 October 27th. Died. Of South Bank, North Riding of York, Engineer and Ironworks Manager. Probate to his widow Mary Hill of Stapylton Villa, South Bank.
