1884 Born in Sheffield.

Educated at Sheffield Science School and Sheffield University College.

1902 Graduated in electrical engineering.

1902 Entered the service of the English Marconi Company; undertook construction and operating work in England, Holland, Germany, and Egypt.

1905 Appointed engineer with the Canadian Marconi Company

1909-11 In complete charge of the business during which time that company's contract with the Canadian Government for the operation of the Great Lakes stations was negotiated, as well as the contract between the Canadian Company and the Newfoundland Government.

1917 Chief Engineer of the Canadian Marconi Company

1918 Appointment to the engineering staff of the American Marconi Company.

1920 Appointed Plant Engineer, Radio Corporation of America.

1921 Assistant Chief Engineer Radio Corporation of America.
