Alexander Alliott (c1806-1870) of Manlove, Alliott and Seyrig and Manlove and Alliott, inventor of the centrifugal drying machine, and lace manufacturer
1806 March 18th. Born the son of Richard Alliott and his wife Marianne Strahan
1833 Married(1) Maria Straeban.[1] She died 30th December 1837.
1837 Went into business with Edward Manlove

1851 Living at Chancery? Cottage, Arnold, Notts: Alexander Alliott (age 45 born St. Peter's, Nott), Machine Maker - Occupying 10 acres. With his wife Mary Alliott (age 41 born St. Mary's, Nott) and their two children Mary Alliott (age 9 born Lenton) and James Bingham Alliott (age 6 born Lenton). Three servants.[2]
1861 Living at Western Terrace, Nottingham: Alexander Alliott (age 55 born Nottingham), Engineer and Lace Manufacturer. With his wife Mary Alliott (age 51 born Nottingham) and their daughter Mary Alliott (age 19 born Lenton). Also his mother-in-law Elizabeth Bingham (age 86 born Nottingham). One visitor. Four servants.[3]
1870 August 12th. Died at Biarritz.
