1869-75 Apprentice in works of Combe and Barbour, engineers and machine makers

1873 Supervised the erection of large machines at exhibition in Vienna

1876 Became a managing partner of the firm Combe, Barbour and Combe

1888 Proposed to join I Mech E as member[1]

1896 of Combe, Barbour and Combe

1901 Abram Combe 48, lived in Ballyfinaghy, Malone with Emilie Caroline Combe 44, Robert George Nicholson Combe 22, James Combe 23, Samuel Barbour Combe 21[2]
